The lyrics 'How could you keep those lying eyes', could suggest that the girl who he loves, has been lying to his face, will not admit to him what she has done. Also this could suggest that he knows she's been lying due to the look in her eyes.
The lryics 'Trying to say all the words that have been in my mind today', this could suggest he always thinks about her. Therefore, he is very much in love with her and he is trying is trying hard to express how he feels. Therefore, we can deduce as an audience that he runs through his mind situations of him being with her, and what he would want to say to her if he had the chance to.
The next lyrics are 'I've been falling at your feet, now i'm crawling'. This is a metaphore when someone says they are 'falling head over heals for you'. Therefore, he is stating that he fell for her, as in fell in love with her. However, now he feels as if he is crawling after her because she does not want the same things out of life as what he wants.
The lryics used after that are 'Whoa never good enough but nothings for you'. this suggests that she is good enough for everything but the thing that she wants he can not give her so she would not love him because of that.
The lyrics then move onto 'When you cheat and lie on me'. This therefore, emphasises on the first lyrics saying 'lying eye's. Therefore, as an audience we can deduce that the girl character has cheated and lied to the singer, who is singing about her. Therefore, by him stating what he has done, as an audience we can suggest that he is hurt and what others to know how she treated him.
The lryics then move onto 'Cant you see you've been holding me back for too long now'. Therefore, this could suggest that because he feels he is so in love with her that he cannot move on to better things because he cannot get over her.
The last lyrics used that show meaning are 'Now my heart beats clear when you cheat and lie on me'. This could suggest that he is accepting what she is doing to him, and he now realises that she is no good for him and that he deserves better.
Deconstrucing the Music:
- When I first listened to our choice of song, it became aware that the tempo started off fairly quiet and then built up to a fast rhythm when the song unfolded. This is when the song developed to the chorus.
- The instruments used are an electric guitar and a drum kit. Therefore, in our production we aimed to include one of each.
- The chorus starts when the tempo builds up. Therefore, in the chorus we aim to focus on the instruments and to make it look like they are in sync to make an overall, professional performance to the best of our ability.
